I have brand new in the box 4-Eshopps Bio-Lux ultra porous ceramic bio media blocks. They measure 6 3/8" x 1 x 1 1/2" each. As a biological efficient filter media in salt and fresh water aquariums. Extremely hydrophilic-retains moisture up to 10 times longer than bio balls.
Benefits include increase in beneficial bacteria for nitrification and de-nitrification, removing harmful ammonia, nitrites, and reducing nitrates. It also decreases aquarium maintenance with less water changes needed in most situations.
For every 4 blocks there is over 43,000 sq ft of surface area for bacterial growth. Recommended amounts of bio lux depending on your bio load-
4-8 for 50 gallons, 8-12 for 75 gallons, 12-16 for 100 gal, 16-24 for 200 gal, 24-32 for 300 gal. Pre filtering the water before it reaches Bio-Lux works the best
